ADELAIDE assistant coach Mark Bickley says the Western Bulldogs have given the Crows the blueprint on how to beat Brisbane at the Gabba tomorrow.

The two-time premiership-winning Crows captain said while Brisbane's strengths were on show in the undefeated NAB Cup campaign, the 68-point round 1 loss to the Bulldogs had uncovered deficiencies in the Lions game plan.

Brisbane were dominated at the centre clearances and were unable to replicate the quick ball movement through the centre corridor that was a highlight in the pre-season.

Ball use was also poor under intense pressure from the Bulldogs, while Lions money men such as Jonathan Brown and Daniel Rich were shut down.

"We've had the opportunity to have a really good look at Brisbane," Bickley said.

"We've seen Brisbane play very well but we've also been given an opportunity to see some things that the Western Bulldogs did to expose them.

"We've seen enough to hopefully formulate a game plan to get the job done.

"They beat us up there last year plus I think last week was an aberration for them.

"Winning form is good form. We used the NAB Cup last year (winning the pre-season competition) as a springboard into the season so we respect what Brisbane have done."

The Crows suffered a shock 35-point loss to Essendon on March 22 and have had two weeks to stew on the upset.

Bickley said the Crows needed to improve ball movement.

"Brisbane's defenders have always done really well against us," he said. "Daniel Merrett has played really well against us in the past while Joel Patfull is always rock-solid.

"We were stagnant against Essendon and we can't afford to be like that against Brisbane."

Brisbane have recalled ruckman Matthew Leuenberger, tagger Andrew Raines and utility Ryan Lester with Matt Maguire (calf), Billy Longer and Aaron Cornelius (both omitted) making way.

Bickley said Brisbane did not have a mortgage on redemption this weekend.

"There were a couple of areas of our game where we just didn't execute well," he said. "We've had the chance to get things right and get over a few niggles."

Teen midfielder Brad Crouch will finally wear the Adelaide jumper and he forced out the 226-gamer Graham Johncock in team changes last night.

Crouch was kept on ice in the SANFL for 12 months after dealing with Greater Western Sydney in the 2011 trade period.

Crouch and small forward Ian Callinan are new to Adelaide's losing round 1 line-up.
