NORTH Melbourne's Majak Daw will not be the only athletically gifted big man making his senior debut at Etihad Stadium tomorrow.

Daw has attracted all the hype ahead of the round 4 clash with Brisbane given the journey from his war-torn homeland to the AFL.

The 195cm ruckman/forward is the first Sudanese-born footballer to play in the AFL.

Brisbane forward Marco Paparone has travelled a more conventional route to the AFL.

The 18-year-old was taken by the Lions at pick No.23 in last year's draft and has been likened to St Kilda superstar Nick Riewoldt because of his running and marking ability.

The East Fremantle product stands 194cm, tips the scales at 86kg and starred for WA in last year's under-18 national championships.

Brisbane confirmed its final 22 last night with Paparone, fellow debutant Sam Docherty and defender Ryan Harwood coming into the side with Jared Polec (foot), Elliot Yeo and James Polkinghorne out.

North coach Brad Scott said he was not pressured into playing the raw but imposing Daw who spent three years on the Roos' rookie list.

"We are not picking him because it is a great story. We are picking him because we think he can help us win the game," Scott said.

Meanwhile, Lions Simon Black and Brent Staker will return from knee injuries in the NEAFL today when the reserves take on Broadbeach at Coorparoo from 1.30pm.
