PORT Adelaide wants Crows fans to embrace the Power for a day.
With Adelaide supporters still angry at Kurt Tippett's decision to walk out on the club to join Sydney, Port is expecting some of its fans to attend Saturday's home clash against the Swans to voice displeasure at the key forward.
"We would love it if any Crows fans want to come out and support us this weekend,'' key defender Tom Jonas said.
"Whether they're cheering for us or against Kurt the more the better.''
Tippett, who will play his first game for Sydney after serving an 11-match ban for his role in the salary cap scandal which rocked the Crows last year, is public enemy No. 1 among Adelaide supporters.
He is expected to get a hostile reception at AAMI Stadium on Saturday and at Adelaide Airport tomorrow when he arrives with his new Swans teammates.
Super stopper Jonas has put his hand up to silence Tippett after eclipsing dynamic young Giants forward Jeremy Cameron at Skoda Stadium last Sunday.
"I'd love to have a bit of a crack at Kurt,'' said Jonas.
"He has been put out in pasture for a while and will be raring to go.
"Stopping him will probably come down to our team defence, it will be a team job and pressure up the ground will be vital.
"If we don't get that he could get a few (goals).
"Bobby (Alipate Carlile) will also be keen to have a crack at him and so will Hombschy (Jack Hombsch).
"It's going to be big task but I'm sure we'll all chip in and hopefully get the job done on him.''
Jonas said Port, which snapped a five-game losing streak by smashing the Giants by 75 points, is itching for a big scalp to fast-track its development.
The Swans clash is followed by games against Collingwood, Essendon and Hawthorn.
Beating Sydney would give the Power's rebuilding program great credibility.
"Sydney are a great team, they've been the benchmark for a long time and are in great form,'' Jonas said.
"It will be a great test for us but we feel we've got a lot of strengths to us as well and feel that if we take it to these sides we can get a win.
"We're really looking forward to putting in a strong performance against them.''
Port must replace Travis Boak (dislocated finger) but can consider Dom Cassisi (hamstring), Jasper Pittard (hip) and Brett Ebert (calf), after long-term injuries.
While Jonas is happy for Crows fans to jeer Tippett, he wants Power fans to show him respect.
"He has done what is right for him,'' Jonas said.
"He deserves a lot of respect.''
