SYDNEY'S next chairman will be South Australian Andrew Pridham when the respected and outspoken Richard Colless steps down early next year.
Pridham, 46, has served on the Swans' board for the past 12 years and is a graduate of Rostrevor College and University of South Australia.
He has forged a career in investment banking and is now the chief executive of Moelis & Company, a New York headquartered investment bank.
The club's deputy chairman, Andrew McMaster, will continue in his role.
Colless was confident the transition would be as smooth as that of the coaching role at the club, which had John Longmire succeed Paul Roos and adding another premiership trophy to the club's silverware cabinet.
"We place a high premium on board members, senior management, and coaching and support staff having a strong understanding of the club's culture and values," Colless said.
"We believe that this is best achieved by - if you like - peo-ple serving a genuine apprenticeship. I'm sure the handover will occur as smoothly as the Paul Roos/John Longmire transition did.
"Having said that, it is important that our supporters and stakeholders fully understand that there is no complacency within the board and the club as a whole.
"We remain totally committed to continual improvement in all facets of our activities.
"To do otherwise is a guarantee of mediocrity."
